                                  Track: Code 75 (Finescale) Peco

                                  Picture
I must admit that I decided to use finescale track for no other reason than I was told it looked better then Code 100. At the time I was cynical. However, now that it is down, there is a huge difference. I am not sure if you could tell the difference if you were not looking for it. Anyway, it was easier to lay this time as I get more experienced at it. It can be very frustrating at first, but take your time, and be gentle. I bought a set of tracksettas from Ebay which have been helpful in estimating the radius of the curves, but none of the bends on Green Wood are uniform.

Points / Turnouts: Peco Code 75 Electrofrog

Choosing code 75 track only really gives you one option in regards to points. I will be modifying them to improve running. The frogs will use a switch to swap polarity. There will be 16 points on Green Wood and 3 single slips. If you have the choice: electrofrog is the way to go.

I have just (May 2011) upgraded to a Digitrax Zephyr controller. I spent a bit of time looking at various systems and felt this was best for me. 1) simple to use 2) able to read and write CV's 3) option to PC control eventually. Also, a second hand one presented itself, and I could not resist.............. Maybe a review soon, after I am better aquianted with it.
