I think it is traditional that one should have a geeky picture of yourself if you are into model railways.
I am 38ish, married with two kids and a hound.
An average bloke.....with an above average hobby.
My modelling preferences are:
Prefer:
longer points on layouts
biggest radius curves possible
transition curves
small inclines
well thought out "mini scenes" on layouts
seeing someone enjoying themselves, even if the result is not perfect
trains that stay on the track
the wonder in kids eyes when they first see a layout
learning new tricks
playing with power tools
sitting watching the trains (with a cold beer in the summer and a hot coffee in the winter)
staying up late and sleeping in
Prefer Not:
to be asked "how much did that cost?"
and "doesn't it go any faster?"
....oh, and the word: "newbie"
